Our Story

Temple Terrace Presbyterian Weekday School has been serving families in our community since 1959! What began as a small program has grown into a trusted early childhood center dedicated to providing quality care and education for young children.

Key milestones in our history include:

• 1959 – The school began as Christian Playschool to provide children with early group learning experiences  

               before public kindergarten existed.

• 1961 – The program became Temple Terrace Presbyterian Weekday Church School, offering nursery school

               for three- and four-year-olds and a kindergarten program.

• 1984 – A school-age program began, providing after-school transportation from local elementary schools.

• 1994 – The kindergarten program was discontinued and a two-year-old program was introduced.

• 1996 – The school achieved national accreditation through NAEYC (National Association for the Education of

               Young Children).

• 2007 – TTPWS began participating in Florida’s VPK program, providing free preschool for four-year-olds.

• 2010 – The school received accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission (NAC) and became a

               Florida Gold Seal provider.

Today, Temple Terrace Presbyterian Weekday School proudly serves more than 130 children, continuing our long tradition of nurturing young learners in a caring Christian environment.
